Gillian first joined the UQBR Aquatics team in 2011 as a part time aquatic technical assistant whilst doing her undergraduate Bachelor of Marine Studies (BMarSt) degree at UQ. By the following year she was managing part time facility work and an honours project that focused on the latent effects that larval rearing diets could have on laboratory zebrafish.
In 2013, Gill got promoted within the UQBR Aquatics team to an Aquatic Research Technical Officer. Currently an AALAS member, she has completed ALAT certification. Thanks to her special field of interest, Gill is currently the main go-to person for information on marine invertebrates and “exotic fish”.
