Located in the thriving Biosciences Precinct of The University of Queensland’s St Lucia campus, the Biological Resources Aquarium is a collection of aquatic facilities operating centrally to support aquatic research throughout UQ.

Formation

The Biological Resources Aquatics division stemmed from the cessation of the NHMRC’s Australian Zebrafish Phenomics Facility Enabling Grant (AZPF) to ensure UQ researchers received the continued support and infrastructure associated with research using aquatic model organisms. The Biological Resources Aquatics supports a diverse range of fields from developmental genetics and human disease to physiology and environmental toxicology.
